SVS Robotics, Inc. was founded in 1976 and doubled in size each year until 1981 when the corporation’s business sky rocketed and a second facility was added. By 2001 SVS Robotics, Inc constructed a new Early Childhood facility to house the department’s youngest associates.
This year NASA has reached out to BEST Robotic, Inc. (BRI) asking for assistance in locating a company who can design a robotic that will be sent to Mars in 2021 and deliver supplies on the red planet. SVS Robotics, Inc. and several other competitors recently attended the competition Kick-Off at Davidson High School located in Mobile, AL. The contract will be awarded to the firm that can design the best robot to assist with the offload of logistics on the surface of Mars. The product that NASA/BRI is proposing is a robot that will:
- Exit the base and drive across the Martian surface
- Drive up onto the Automated Supply vehicle and load supplies
- Drive off the ASV and store the supplies in a storage bin at the Martian base, within a three (3) minute time limit.
There are four different types of supplies each robot will need to handle: fuel cells, medical supplies, food supplies and equipment.
